Prof. Shigeo Akashi, Tokyo University of Science, Japan

Shigeo Akashi was certified as a Ph.D. holder by Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1987 and he is now a professor at Tokyo University of Science. He was the chair professor at the Department of Information Sciences at this university from 2015 through 2016. As for the academic and educational activities, he has been a member of the Experts Committee leading scientific education for Japanese senior high schools, which is authorized by Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japanese Government since 2016. He is interested in the interdisciplinary research area ranging from applied mathematics and information sciences. As for the aspect of applied mathematics, he was an invited speaker in Asian Mathematical Conference which was held at Busan City in Korea in 2013, and moreover, he was a member of Scientific Committee for Asian Conference on Nonlinear Analysis and Optimization which was approved as a satellite international conference of International Congress of Mathematicians 2014. As for the aspect of information science, he has been certified as Distinguished Cisco Certified Active Instructor by Cisco Networking Academy, which is administrated by Cisco Systems, since 2012, and moreover, he was awarded 2018 APSCIT Fellowship by Asia Pacific Society for Computing and Information Technology. His joint research work with RKC Instruments Co. Ltd., which is the largest company in all Japanese companies producing temperature-measuring instruments, named as "An algorithm for discriminating the inside of a closed curve from the outside" has been approved with Patent ID. 4760768 by Japan Patent Office attached to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japanese Government in 2011.

 

Prof. Luiz Moutinho, University of Suffolk, UK

Professor Luiz Moutinho (BA, MA, PhD, FCIM) is Visiting Professor of Marketing at Suffolk Business School, University of Suffolk, Ipswich, England, and Visiting Professor of Marketing at Universidade Europeia and the Marketing School, Portugal.

During 2015 - 2017 he was professor of BioMarketing and Futures Research at the DCU Business School, Dublin City University, Ireland. This was the first Chair in the world on both domains - BioMarketing and Futures Research. Previously, and for 20 years, he had been appointed as the Foundation Chair of Marketing at the Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow, Scotland. In 2017 Luiz Moutinho received a degree of Professor Honoris Causa from the University of Tourism and Management Skopje, FYR of Macedonia.

He completed his PhD at the University of Sheffield in 1982. He has been a Full Professor for 29 years and held posts at Cardiff Business School, University of Wales College of Cardiff, Cleveland State University, Ohio, USA, Northern Arizona University, USA and California State University, USA. He has held Visiting Professorship positions at numerous universities in China, Lithuania, Austria, New Zealand, Denmark, Slovenia, Portugal, Hungary, Taiwan, Brazil, Colombia, Fiji and Cyprus.

Between 1987 and 1989 he was the Director of the Doctoral Programmes at the Confederation of Scottish Business Schools and at the Cardiff Business School between 1993 and 1996. He was Director of the Doctoral Programme in Management at the University of Glasgow between 1996 and 2004.

Professor Moutinho is the Founding Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Modelling in Management (JM2) and Co-editor-in-Chief of the Innovative Marketing Journal. He has another 4 Associate Editorships as well as being in the Editorial Boards of another 47 international academic journals.

His areas of research interest encompass bio-marketing, neuroscience in marketing, algorithmic self, EmoWear - a wearable tech device that detects human emotions, evolutionary algorithms, human-computer interaction, the use of artificial neural networks in marketing, modelling consumer behaviour, futures research, marketing futurecast and tourism and marketing. Other primary areas of Professor Moutinho’s academic research are related to modelling processes of consumer behaviour.

He has developed a number of conceptual models over the years in areas such as tourism destination decision processes, automated banking, supermarket patronage, among other areas. The testing of these research models has been based on the application of many different statistical, computer and mathematical modelling techniques ranging from multidimensional scaling, multinomial logit generalised linear models (GLMs) and linear structural relations to neural networks, ordered probit, simulated annealing, tabu search, genetic algorithms, memetic algorithms and fuzzy logic.

Professor Moutinho has over 150 articles published in refereed academic journals, 34 books and more than 11,500 academic citations, the h-index of 50 and the i10-index of 161 (June, 2018).

 

Prof. Abdul Ghani Albaali, Princess Sumaya University for Technology, Jordan

Dr. Ghani Albaali was born in Baghdad, Iraq, and holds New Zealand citizenship. In 2001, he earned a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Auckland, NZ, where he was awarded the Best Doctoral Thesis in the Faculty of Engineering for the year 2001. He is currently working as an Associate Professor at Princess Sumaya University for Technology in Amman, Jordan. Dr. Albaali’s areas of expertise include Heat & Mass Transfer, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Numerical Analysis, Computer Simulations, Mathematical Modeling, Environment Engineering and Technology, Renewable Energy, Solar Energy, Energy Conversion, Fluid Mechanics, Physics, Advanced Mathematics, Thermal Sterilization of Food, High Pressure Processing, Food Processing Engineering, Research Methodology, Data Analysis, and Statistics. Dr. Albaali is the author of more than 180 published papers, books and book chapters in these areas. Dr. Albaali has developed several original computer models in the areas of Heat & Mass Transfer, High Pressure Processing of Food, and Food Processing Engineering. These works have been published in a number of international journals and presented at several international conferences (USA, Australia, France, Japan, Mexico, Turkey, Italy, Canada, Jordan, Iraq, and New Zealand). He is currently a reviewer of several international books and journals, and has attended numerous training courses in the US, Italy, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Iraq and Jordan. Dr. Albaali is a prominent figure on the international scene in the field of using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) in Food Engineering Applications. He was awarded a Post Doctoral Fellowship (Sept. 2002 - Aug. 2005) from the New Zealand Foundation of Research Science and Technology. Dr. Albaali is listed in the “Who's Who in Science and Engineering”, 7th Edition, 2003-2004 and 23rd Edition in 2005 & 2006, as well as “The Chronicle of Higher Achievements”, NJ, USA. Prof. Yonghui Li, The University of Sydney, Australia

Yonghui Li received his PhD degree in November 2002. Since 2003, he has been with the Centre of Excellence in Telecommunications, the University of Sydney, Australia. Li is now a Professor and Director of Wireless Engineering Laboratory in School of Electrical and Information Engineering, University of Sydney. He is the recipient of theAustralian Research Council (ARC)Queen Elizabeth II Fellowship in 2008 andARC Future Fellowship in 2012. He is an IEEE Fellow for contributions to cooperative communications technologies.

His current research interests are in the area of wireless communications, with a particular focus on IoT, machine to machine communicaitons, MIMO, millimeter wave communications, channel coding techniques, game theory, machine learning and signal processing. Li holds a number of patents granted and pending in these fields.

Professor Li is an editor for IEEE transactions on communications, IEEE transactions on vehicular technology and guest editors for several special issues of IEEE journals, such as IEEE JSAC, IEEE IoT Journals, IEEE Communications Magazine. He received the best paper awards from IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC) 2014, IEEE PIMRC 2017, and IEEE Wireless Days Conferences (WD) 2014.

He has published one book, more than 160 papers in premier IEEE journals and more than 100 papers in premier IEEE conferences. His publications have been cited more than 8000 times, with an h-index of 42. Six of his papers have been included as ISI high cited papers by ESI Web of Science, defined as top 1% of papers in the field. Several of his papers have been the top most 10 most cited papers in the respective journals since the year it was published.

Li has attracted more than $6 million in competitive research funding over the past 10 years, including 10 ARC grants. He has participated in $500 Millions Australia national demonstration project “Smart Grid Smart City” and designed last mile access networks.

He is the founder and director of IoT undergraduate major at the University of Sydney.

Dr. Parameshachari B D, currently working as a Professor, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, Bengaluru. He has completed his B.E, degree in ECE from KIT, Tiptur and M.Tech in Digital communication from BMSCE, Bengaluru and Completed Ph.D in Electronics from Jain University, Bangalore. He has a total 19+ years of teaching and research experience and he has worked at various positions and places like Karnataka, Kerala and Mauritius. He is recognized as Research Guide at VTU,Belagavi, awarded TWO PhD and currently, SIX Research Scholars were pursuing Ph.D. Degree under his supervision.

He is currently Serving has a Distinguished Speaker by ACM and IEEE Virtual Speaker by Virtual Bureau Speaker Program. He is serving as Student Activity Chair, IEEE Bangalore Section, He is the Founding Chair-Elect, IEEE Mysore Subsection, Founding Chair, IEEE Bangalore Section Chapter ITS, 2022 Treasurer & 2021 Secretary for Bangalore Section Chapter CAS. Through his personal contacts, Successful in motivating and encouraging the faculty members to start the 14 IEEE SBs and 25 IEEE SBCs across Karnataka. He is the recipient of IEEE Bangalore Section Outstanding Volunteer Award, IEEE Bangalore Section Best Branch Counsellor Award and Outstanding Reviewer-Elsevier Signal Processing. Dr. Parameshachari has published over 125+ articles in SCI, SCOPUS and other indexed journals and also in conferences. He is the Associate Editor for IJRES, IJBDAH,IJHSTM-IGI Global, Academic Editor for Hindawai- International Journal of Clinical Practice, Wireless Communication and Mobile Computing-Hindawai.
